2008-2009 Teen Anglers Freshwater Tournament Rules
-
All boats must be Coast Guard
equipped, life jacket, paddle, fire extinguisher, throw cushion, horn or
whistle and working livewells.

Life Jackets must be worn anytime the
big motor is running.
-
Emergency kill switch must be in
operating condition and used when the big motor is running
-
Take off time will be safe daylight.
Weigh-in time will be 1:00pm for Regional
-
tournaments and 2:00pm for the
championships.( OR A TIME DESIGNATED BY YOUR TOURNAMENT DIRECTOR) Late penalty will be 4 oz per minute for five (5)
minutes. After that, you are disqualified.

Running lights must be operational to
proceed at safe daylight. If not, you will have to wait till sun-up to leave.

A five (5) fish limit per Teen Angler:
mouth closed, tail fanned or straight which ever measures on Golden Rule.
When exemptions are issued, five (5) fish of any size may be weighed in with
the exceptions of the months of February, March, April and May. During those
months, a five (5) fish limit is still in effect but only one fish over
twenty-two (22) inches may be weighed in. Florida laws on bag limits on
certain lakes will take precedence over these rules. In the event a boat
breaks down, you may board another Teen Anglers boat and transport your fish
to the weigh-in sight. You may also be towed in by another Teen Angler boat
to the weigh in sight. If you are transported to the weigh-in sight or towed
in to the weigh-in sight by any other boat other than a
Teen
Angler tournament participate, your catch for the day will be disqualified.
No exceptions. Failure to stop and render assistance to a fellow competitor,
whose boat has become disabled, will be deemed as an unsportsmanlike action.

Dead Fish: A four (4) oz penalty will
be assessed to your final weight for the day for every dead fish weighed in.
There is no culling of dead fish allowed and no culling at the ramp. Any
violation will result in an immediate disqualification.

All fish weighed in will be released
immediately at the weigh-in site. No putting fish back in your live well
after weigh-in. On any two day tournament, any violation of this rule will
result in a disqualification for the entire tournament.

No fishing within 50 yards of another
boat at legal anchor, trolling motor up and anchor down. No trolling allowed
as a means of fishing with the big motor or trolling motor.
-
No alcoholic beverages or illegal
drugs are allowed in any boat during the tournament. Any violation of this
rule will result in an immediate dismissal from the tournament and you will no
longer be allowed to participate in any Teen Angler event.

Artificial Bait Only. No live bait.
-
Boat cannot be removed from the water
until your fish are weighed in. Removal of boat before weigh-in will result
in automatic disqualification unless instructions to do so are given by the
tournament director.

BOAT CAPTAINS, PARENTS, SIBLINGS, OR ANYONE NOT
PARTICIPATING IN THE TEEN ANGLERS TOURNAMENT AS AN ANGLER OR CO-ANGLER, ARE
NOT ALLOWED TO FISH DURING TOURNAMENT HOURS. VIOLATION OF THIS RULE WILL
RESULT IN AN IMMEDIATE DISQUALIFICATION OF THE TEEN ANGLER.

You will conduct yourself in a sportsmanship like manner
at all times. A violation of this rule will result in an immediate
disqualification and will result in a suspension from Teen Angler Events until
the President of the National Teen Anglers reinstates your rights to
participate.

Teen Angler Officials will be on the water this season
to take pictures, film and view anglers. Any rules violations observed by the
officials will be immediately dealt with.

Any interpretation of the rules or rulings will be the
decision of the President of the National Teen Anglers, the Tournament
Director or his appointed representative. The decisions are final!!!!

Any questions on the above tournament rules and
regulations may be directed to the President of the National Teen Anglers or
the Tournament Director before the start of any tournament.
